Choosing a branding agency in Malaysia
A branding agency in Malaysia decides how your business should be seen, then designs the logo, colours, type, stationery and brand guidelines that express it. A corporate identity from a Malaysian branding company costs RM5,000 to RM15,000 and takes six to eight weeks. Projects with naming and strategy workshops reach RM40,000.

What a branding company delivers
Branding is deciding what your business stands for and how it should come across. A branding agency turns that into things you can use every day:
- Positioning. A short written statement of who you serve, what you offer and why you are different.
- Logo. The mark, in every version you need.
- Colour and type. A palette and typefaces chosen to work on screen, in print and on signage.
- Applications. Name cards, letterhead, invoice, email signature, social templates, signboard.
- Brand guidelines. A document that tells staff, printers and agencies how to use all of it. See what to put in brand guidelines.
What branding costs in Malaysia
| Scope | Typical price | Timeline |
|---|---|---|
| Logo only | RM2,000 to RM6,000 | 2 to 4 weeks |
| Corporate identity with guidelines | RM5,000 to RM15,000 | 6 to 8 weeks |
| Strategy, naming and full identity | Up to RM40,000 | 2 to 4 months |
The RM40,000 upper figure comes from Lesgo Media’s published guide to Malaysian branding engagements, which puts real projects at roughly RM5,000 to RM40,000.

How to choose between them
- Look for work in your industry. A studio that has branded three cafes knows what a cafe brand has to survive: cup stamps, menus, delivery app thumbnails.
- Ask to see a full identity, not just logos. You want to see the guidelines, stationery and signage from a past project.
- Check who you will work with. In larger agencies the senior people pitch and juniors design. Ask.
- Get the scope in writing. List every deliverable, the number of concepts and revision rounds, and whether SST is included.
- Ask about ownership. You should own the copyright and receive source files after final payment.

Questions clients ask before they hire us
What does a branding agency do that a graphic designer does not?
A branding agency starts with what the business stands for and who it is for, then designs a system: logo, colours, type, tone of voice and the rules for using them. A graphic designer usually executes one piece at a time, such as a logo or a flyer.
Do I need a branding agency or just a logo?
A logo alone is enough for a small business with one shop and a few printed items. Once you have staff, several locations or many printed and digital materials, a full identity with guidelines stops everything from drifting apart.
How long does a branding project take in Malaysia?
Six to eight weeks for a corporate identity: one to two weeks of discovery, two to three weeks of design and refinement, and two weeks for stationery, templates and the guidelines document.
Is a branding agency in Kuala Lumpur better than one in Penang?
No. Location affects meeting convenience, not quality. Most branding projects run over video calls. Judge on portfolio, process and how clearly the agency explains its price.
